Welcome to Bird Is The Word

Welcome to FALL 𝐁𝐈𝐓𝐖 𝐅ðĨðĻ𝐜ðĪ! Temps are falling, & our baby conures are waiting for their forever families to come pick them out!

We are happy to announce that Dr. Scott McDonald is returning to BITW in DECEMBER! He will be here performing his well bird checkups on Wednesday, December 10th, from 10am to 8pm. We are taking appointments and his schedule is filling up fast, so give us a call if you’d like to book a spot.

Remember to fast your birds 4 hours prior to your appointment time, and remember to bring a towel & transport them in an appropriate carrier. As always, Dr. Scott prefers cash for payment & your fee to BITW will be collected at that time as well.

â° We will be switching to winter hours on December 1st! Please make note of holidays & special closings.

We welcome all walk in wing & nail trims on weekends only and no appt is needed!

We are fully open for boarding! Please call to schedule your boarding dates & verify if your testing is still current. We will honor current test results within the last 3 years as long as there have been no additional birds added to the home flock. If your testing was done more than 3 years ago and we have you on file as a previous boarder, we will honor your next boarding & then require new testing for future boarding. Thank you for your understanding. Please Note: Walk in boarding is not permitted! All boarders must call to make an appt. to ensure we have space & verify testing results are on hand!

Please remember when bringing your feathered friends in for any reason, they must be IN A CARRIER to enter the store. There are several reasons for this but one very important reason is the safety of your bird traveling from the car to our front door. We have LARGE PREDITORY BIRDS living around the building and customers have had birds taken right off their shoulders before. Please travel safe!
